Retrace the footsteps of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. Enjoy the hospitality of Sherpa village life. Brush against the majesty of Mt. Everest. These are only a few of the experiences that await you in the fabled Solu-Khumbu region of Nepal.
This trek to Everest Base Camp, in the heart of Sagarmatha National Park, has become a rite of passage for many world travellers. The obvious goal is a close-up view of Mt. Everest (8848 m.) the world's highest peak. From Base Camp you may well be able to follow the progress of Everest ascent expedition teams, especially during the prime climbing seasons of spring and fall. But along the way you'll also be treated to staggering panoramas of other 8000-meter mountains, hanging glaciers, thundering waterfalls, and rhododendron forests. Diverse flora, fauna, and the aura of the mysterious Yeti are always present along the trail. The Everest Base Camp trek is equally famous for the hospitality of the indigenous Sherpa people.
