Trekking Destinations >Langtang > Langtang Classic Trek

The Langtang Himalayas are within easy reach of Kathmandu. But they rival any alpine area on the planet for staggering natural beauty. The Langtang region remains one of Nepal's hidden treasures with far less tourist traffic than the Everest or Annapurna regions.

Langtang is a narrow valley bordering Tibet. A trek to the narrow Langtang valley, bordering Tibet, is a great opportunity to explore villages, climb small peaks, and visit glaciers at comfortably low elevations. The inhabitants of the area are of Tibetan origin, the majority being the Tamang tribe. Expect Tibetan cultural influence throughout the valley.

Trekkers pass through two different national parks while trekking in this region. The first one is Langtang and the second is Shivapuri National Park. The trek finishes in the Sundarijal watershed area above Kathmandu.
