The Langtang Himalayas are within easy reach of Kathmandu. But they rival any alpine area on the planet for staggering natural beauty. The Langtang region remains one of Nepal's hidden treasures with far less tourist traffic than the Everest or Annapurna regions.

Although not as popular as Annapurna and Everest areas, many trekkers recommend the Ganesh Himal route. It is famous for Tamang Culture, and spectacular mountain views and rhododendron forest. The Ganesh Himal range consists of several peaks over 7000m in elevation with uninhabited foothills running down to the south and west. You will also vist the town of Gorkha, home of King Prithvi Narayan Shah. No specific permit is needed to trek in Ganesh Himal area.

Suggested Itinerary:

Day 01:

Arrival in Kathmandu, then transfer to hotel / Preparation for trekking

 
Day 02:

Kathmandu to Trishuli to Salangkhu khola (548m) (72 km/ 2-3 hours): Drive by bus/car, trek.

 
Day 03:

Salangkhu khola to Balche village: Trek.

 

Day 04:

Balche village to Gonga: Trek.

 

Day 05:

Gonga to Singla:Trek.

 
Day 06:

Rest day at Singla (4600m): Acclimatization.

 
Day 07:

Singla to Pangsang: Trek.

 
Day 08:

Pangsang to Shomdang: Trek.

 
Day 09:

Shomdang to Jogeshworkund Lake: Trek.

 
Day 10:

Rest day at Jogeshworkund Lake: Acclimatization.

 

Day 11:

Jogeshworkund Lake to Linju khola: Trek.

 
Day 12:

Linju khola to Sertung village: Trek.

 
Day 13:

Sertung village to Lapa: Trek.

 
Day 14:

Lapa to Mongeythanti: Trek.

 
Day 15:

Mongeythanti to Dunchet village: Trek.

 
Day 16:

Dunchet village to Budigandaki: Trek.

 
Day 17:

Budigandaki to Arughat Bazaar:

 
Day 18:

Arughat Bazaar to Bungkot Ghat (relates with the first Prim Minister of Nepal): Trek.

 
Day 19

Bungkot Ghat to Jyamrung /Dhading Besi / Bus or car to Kathmandu. or Bungkot to gorkha( the first kingdom of gorkha and from this country , Prithvi Narayan shah United to the Kathmandu)

 
Day 20:

Gorkha to Kathmandu (141 km/ 5-6 hours): Drive by bus/car to Kathmandu.

 
Day 21:

Rest day at Kathmandu / Explore Kathmandu city.

 
Day 22:

Departure to your own destination or continuously Nepal visit.
